In addition, quantitative researchers, corporate governance team and 35 SRI fund managers focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) investments.

Access to high-quality non-financial ratings1

We rely on non-financial data provided by both generalist and specialist third-party providers in order to assess the ESG credentials of issuers and companies around the world. This data is run through our proprietary analysis tool and then assessed by our ESG analysts. These findings are presented to our internal ratings committee for discussion. We use this methodology to rate over 4,000 organisations.

We were the first asset manager to be certified by AFNOR for SRI process. This certification, which comes from a recognised and  independent organisation, a testament to our commitment to ensuring our SRI practices are both robust and transparent.

A formal engagement policy

01 | Encouraging better practices

We work with companies to encourage them to adopt socially responsible practices. For example, respecting human rights in the oil and mining sector, access to nutrition, and fighting waste in the agri-food and retail sectors.

02 | Collating information for rating purposes

We review non-financial data provided by our trusted partners in order to rate over 4000 organisations worldwide. To fine-tune these ratings, our analysts – specialised by sector - meet regularly with the companies that have a significant weighting in our portfolios or in benchmark indices.

03 | Voting for change

We have shareholder voting rights in approximately 2,500 companies2. We use our influence as shareholders to highlight our expectations about socially responsible practices. Through constructive and regular dialogue, we engage with companies on key aspects of their operations, to request changes in practice and even reject certain proposals.
